I rent a high rise in Chicago and there is a really annoying high pitch noise all of the time. It's not loud enough to be super obvious or looked at as an emergency but loud enough to drive me crazy! I mean literally insane! I can hear it through the night, over the TV, it distracting when I read and is non stop! The building says they are looking into with the building engineer and meeting with contractors to figure it out. It was really bad in July but seemed to stop in August and is back in full force over the past few days.
So my question is... Do I have any right to withhold rent or do anything until it is resolved? What other options could be done besides constantly bugging the management office? Thanks for any input!
