I like the way they idolize Harbaugh, no matter what he does. Look at these comments from his article this morning, ans see if you find it as funny as me:
Q: How do you like Michigan's chances to beat the Cougars?
A: Considering U-M's weaknesses - lack of explosive plays offensively and a lack of high-end athleticism in its front seven - this one would seemingly tilt in Brigham Young's favor.
That said, this is the kind of game that it should pay off to have Harbaugh, both for his tactical/game planning advantages and also to dial up the intensity leading up to the game.
I actually thought Harbaugh's decision to punt the ball on a 4th-and-1 at the U-M 48-yard line with 1:50 to play in the second quarter (and subsequently not calling timeouts on UNLV's drive despite early success defensively) played a big role in Michigan's disappointing second half against the Rebels.
In that moment, he seemed to say, 'We've got this, and don't need to put our foot on the gas.' And the Wolverines played with less enthusiasm the rest of the game.
That won't be the case this week.
My early prediction is 27-24 Michigan.
My comments - So Spath thinks Harbaugh made the wrong decision to not go for it on 4th down in the 2nd quarter, and thinks he made a mistake by not calling timeouts, and thinks he caused the team to let up and couldn't get their intensity back in the 2nd half. Hmmmm....
And yet he thinks the UM is at a disadvantage against BYU, out-manned, but will prevail because they have a tactical genius at Head Coach.
