I don't start many threads, but I posted about this in the netflix thread and it was pretty buried so I thought I would share it in a separate one.

If any of you are growing tired of dealing with (and paying) comcast or charter, here is a decent alternative:

I recently canceled my comcast cable subscription and now just have "SlingTV" which is 20 bucks a month and gives most of the major basic cable channels (ESPNs, TBS, TNT, Food network, AMC, and more). It also has an "on-demand" type component. Since Game of Thrones is currently coming out with new episodes, we added HBO Now for 15 a month. We are supplementing with all that Amazon Prime has to offer (we don't even have netflix) and we are finding MORE than enough to watch. We cut our crazy $100+ cable bill with comcast to $35 a month (which will drop to 20 a month once GoT is over).

The only problem I foresee is not having BTN anymore. I plan to just borrow a family or friends comcast login and do the whole "BTN to go" thing, but that's still not ideal. Maybe just have to go to the bar for some of the BTN games.

Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there for anyone else who is getting frustrated paying comcast/charter the crazy rates they are able to charge.
