Most people would be surprised the learn the myths about the 1970 USC-Alabama game -- and fiction about Sam Cunningham -- began in Alabama. It began in Hollywood. Despite enough holes to sink the Titatnic, the myth has sold like something out of a script from the 1997 movie Wag the Dog. Many people helped create and spread the myth.
