Wide receiver TJ Sheffield, a Purdue transfer who was previously committed to Michigan State, has reopened his recruitment.
Sources tell Spartans Illustrated that this was more so a mutual decision as Sheffield still was working through some things academically (he had some classes to finish up) and MSU understood it may have needed to look at other options.
MSU will be pursuing at least one other wide receiver in the spring transfer portal window. If Sheffield is able to get all of his academics affairs in order, it is possible that Michigan State circles back to him later as well. For now, both MSU and Sheffield want to make sure he has a home, so opening things up os the best thing for both parties right now.
As we don’t know the complete story, we are not going to get more specific than that, and we do ask that you keep that info here in the message board.
Full article to come.
