I remember a while back when we took on Kuhns as a walk-on I was really surprised. He actually had a decent full-ride offer sheet to some great schools.
It was great to see him in the sprig game, and how comfortable he looked.
Fast forward a few months and we might be really, really glad that we took him. If we do have a QB transfer (as some mods have foreshadowed the possibility), Kuhns would be one injury from "next-man-up" assuming he beats out Lewerke.
He may still never play at all this or next year, but it's always important to have great QB's to throw the ball, even in practice against scout teams and such.
