I'm hearing/ reading a lot about the blackout Saturday night. More specifically about the extra energy and enthusiasm it brings to the team. These articles and interviews reference the big win against Michigan as evidence that this environment helps the team... I sort of refute the claim based on this evidence. Rutgers was a Bowl team last year and Michigan was an historical powerhouse that really stunk last year. They only won by 2 and it took a somewhat controversial call to get it done. Shouldn't Rutgers have won that game at home under any normal circumstances? I think the blackout type of thing (striping) is cool, but I'm not worried about it as a huge motivating factor.
