1. We are seeing the rise of the two way players at MSU. OK, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but, we now have TJ Harrell joining RJ Shelton playing on both sides of the ball, after Tony Lippett became the first MSU player to start on both sides since Lyndon Johnson was President. I think it is a noticeable trend, that will continue and grow, as circumstances warrant. I do think Harrell goes back to LB full time in the fall, but, I think he will carry the ball during his MSU career and play LB.
2. Shane Jones reference! Mark mentioned he is "coming along." Jones could be considered the forgotten man of the MSU defense, although, he will only be a redshirt sophomore this fall. This fall is critical for him. With Ed Davis and Darien Harris moving on after this season, he will be needed in the future.
3. Do McGarrett Kings, Jr. and Delton Williams want to be part of this Program? I take it from Mark's tone and comments they have to prove that to this staff. I imagine they will have to earn their way back. Either they will come back stronger and more mature from the experience or wash out. It is up to them.
4. I think this staff will work hard to keep Damion Terry part of this Program, even if he loses to Tyler O'Connor as the heir apparent to Connor Cook. I think we will see Terry on the field when O'Connor is under center and there will be special packages put in for Terry. MSU cannot afford to lose either O'Connor or Terry.
5. Mark sent a clear public message to LJ Scott that the door is open to him to play right away. I am sure that message has been sent privately. However, Mark made it clear nothing will be given. Scott will have to put in the work. What an opportunity for a High School kid. The ball is in his court.
