Recruiting was so much easier to follow when we sucked than it is today. Now that MD has established MSU as a top 10 program, we are in on some of the top recruits in the country and we are fighting with Alabama, OSU and other top programs that are trying to pouch our top ranked kids. This creates online fights and frustration with fans. What is the over/under on threads started about Rison for the next 1.5 years and how many articles hint he might go somewhere else? I would say 30 will be the number of horrible threads.
In some ways I long for the days of JLS when we constantly beat out Buffalo, Indiana, Pudue and Western Michigan for recruits. Buffalo...Frickin Buffalo. It seemed like every kid we landed had a Buffalo offer. At that time it was so much easier as nobody was trying to steal our "commits" and we were just waiting for Comp and his staff to spin how great this new kid with a Buffalo offer was going to do for MSU.
Gosh I miss those days....And then the season started and I got to watch our Buffalo recruits get beat by Purdue, Indiana and Central Michigan.
