COMMITMENTS

Jacob Allen - Princeton (NJ) Hun School - Committed to Rutgers
Commitment | Profile | Highlights

Michigan State has been after the class of 2022 Rivals.com four-star offensive tackle for awhile now. Allen was scheduled to visit East Lansing in June, but that visit is now up in the air with his recent commitment to the Scarlet Knights. The 6-foot-6 295-pound recruit fits the size requirement that Mel Tucker and his staff have made abundantly clear and it would have been a major coup to get the lineman out of Rutgers' backyard. Unfortunately, the Spartans didn't win the recruiting battle for Allen likely finishing second behind Rutgers and ahead of Penn State, who was also in on the tackle. Michigan State will host a handful of other linemen this June with recruits like Alessandro Lorenzetti, Braden Miller, Andrew Chamblee, Aliou Bah, and Kiyaunta Goodwin already scheduled to officially visit. The Spartans will also keep tabs on Ryan Baer, Carter Smith, and recently offered Jack Dotzler. Baer is expected to visited Michigan State next month. The Spartans currently have three offensive line commits which allows them to be meticulous when selecting the final additions for the 2022 cycle.

Parker Brailsford - Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro - Committed to Washington
Commitment | Profile | Highlights

Michigan State offered the center prospect from Arizona last July and have remained interested. Brailsford held a host of West Coast offers including USC, Washington, Colorado, Boise State, Arizona, BYU, and more. Michigan State has been heavily recruiting the state of Arizona recently including receiving a commitment from Gavin Broscious along with landing the signature of Hank Pepper. The Spartans' staff has also offered a handful from the region including Michael Masunas, Cole Martin, Deric English, and more. Brailsford stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 270-pounds which does not fit the exact size specifications the Michigan State staff is looking for, although center is one of the positions that exceptions can be made. Michigan State is also interested in another West Coast Center Dylan Lopez. Originally from California, Lopez now plays at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy.
