Come on. A lot of you guys need to quit the whining and hand wringing.
In going up 21-0, we pretty much did whatever we wanted on offense. Looked fluid and smooth. Didn't appear to be particularly challenged. Got up 21 and then the weather turned, so we coasted.
The problem with going up and then letting off the gas is that it's tough to ramp it back up. That said, we still had the play for the 4th TD to Lyles. Kid has to hold on to that rock. If he does, then its a totally different game. Same thing with the fumble on the punt. 2 plays that change the entire game.
It looked like MSU was playing at about 65% after going up 21. If you remember, the same thing happened last year when Nebraska was here. We shut them down and did whatever we wanted. Went up big, took the foot off the gas. And then what happened? Same thing as Satruday, but almost worse, because Nebraska was much closer to scoring that last TD.
It's MD and how he manages a game. I don't think it's symptomatic of any huge underlying problems or complacency.
That lion is just pacing in its cage right now. I would be shocked to see any sort of monstrous effort against Rutgers either. It will probably be a B-/C+ win with a few head-scratchers.
Next week? Well, you know what's coming.
