I should probably know this, but I am not too proud to say that I don't. There were one or two examples of something like this in the MSU-OSU game, and I wanted someone to clarify what happened.
Basically, there are times in a game where a foul occurs, for example, on a rebound or a loose ball when no team has clear possession. The other category that I don't fully understand is an offensive foul like a charge, a hook, or an illegal screen.
In both these cases, it is never clear to me if free throws are awarded if a team is in the bonus or double bonus. Honestly, sometimes it seems like they are and sometimes it seems like they are not. I think that there was at least one instance in Saturday's game where OSU was given a FT when I didn't think that they should have gotten them. I am sure that there is a simple explanation to this, but this rule has for some reason eluded me over the years.
