I don't know if this has been posted already, but Barnett confirmed that he is going to be calling the defensive plays. He says he is excited about it, but downplayed it a little bit.
He, Tressel and Dantonio (with help from Burton) set the defensive game plan and schemes, of course. But there's no time for meetings and deliberating when it comes to deciding when to blitz the corner, when to run that double inside linebacker A-blitz you've been saving, when to run the zone blitz with the DE dropping, that kind of thing. One guy has to be making that call, and it's going to be the guy in the booth - Barnett. Snyder will be there with him. They value Snyder's ability to make live, in-game diagnoses of what's going on.
