1) Antjuan Simmons offered by Notre Dame: Simmons is very good and I fully expect MSU will offer sometime this fall. With that said, I think the ND offer had a lot to do with the Spartans whipping up on the Irish on the recruiting trail this spring/summer. I think at one point MSU was 7-1 over ND for recruits that both schools wanted. Essentially ND has responded to Michigan State's ability to evaluate early and develop rapport.
2) Prince Sammons is visiting Oregon. While he could be blown away by Ducks, I have a feeling that in the end his parents will want him closer to home. Sammons attends a smaller Christian school in Cincinnati and I think that is somewhat in the Spartans wheelhouse. Not only does MSU recruit Cincy well, but MD is someone who encourages players to develop their faith. Coach Barnett is also a very good recruiter for MSU.
One aspect that I think is interesting about Sammons is what position teams see him playing at the next level. While his film is good on the DL, I think he highest potential could be on the OL.
I have mentioned how MSU is looking closely at Alaric Jackson and he could slide into this class late. I wonder if MSU would take a combination of Sammons and Jackson. Like I have stated before, I view Sammons much the same way I viewed Beedle or Reynolds. I think if you had Sammons, you could use another ship for a TE/DE type.
