1) While UM picked up a solid 4-star OL, the Badgers got a commitment form what I believe is the best OL prospect in Wisconsin, Cole Van Lanen. He had offers from Wisc, MSU and UM. He was one of the OL MSU liked A LOT. Good get for Badgers. As usual the Badgers are quietly putting a solid class together comprised of a bunch of 3-stars.

2) Notre Dame offered DE Adetokunbo Ogundeji of Walled Lake Central. Ogundeji was one of the sleeper kids I had mentioned that MSU could keep a close eye on, especially if they are looking for an edge guy. With the Irish involved and getting the jump, hard to take time and evaluate. I have a feeling MSu would have loved him to stay under the radar a bit longer.

3) UM picking up 4th OL, could that impact Farniok? MSU has offered Farniok and he is expected to visit. MSU is not viewed as a favorite though at this point. With that said, he is from Brad Salem's home town. I have told people not to sleep of AJ Arcuri. I am not saying he is definitely going to get a MSU offer, but do not be surprised. In addition, while I like some of UM's OL commits. I would be willing to stake 15 years of rep saying that if all players stay healthy, Arcuri ends up better than 1 of the 4 OL UM has committed and 2 is a distinct possibility. This is simply a classic case of a kid only being 248-pounds right now.

4) Sticking with Arcuri, the chances of him getting offered IMO took a tick up with the decision of Coghlin to accept a grey-shirt. So if you are looking at 23 being the likely number, which I think is probably right MSU has 4 spots left. How they go about those spots is still a question. If MSU gets Corley and Hill that fills 2 of the 4. That leaves 2 spots left. I think you have 3 positions vying DE, TE and OL. Right now it looks like it comes down to who is on the board at those spots.

5) Nordin to UM. To me this looks pretty anti-climactic as both MSU and PSU went out and grabbed other kickers. I don't worry about kickers as with MSU the proof is in the pudding. As I stated get Coghlin to grey-shirt is huge and it also shows the type of kid he is that he understands the big picture and what MSU is doing. I think Cole Chewins was the same way last year. He understood that MSU had some needs to meet and the overall deal was too good to pass up. These types of decisions show the character of the players and where MSU stands. OSU used to be the king of these deals.
