With the Pope visiting I'm in the spirit to be the Football "pontif"!

1. Per Dantonio--every team from year to year has a different 'personality'. Quit comparing this team with prior years and wait to see what materializes. Hell, lee Corso says no college team is ever the same from week to week!!

2. The coaches know we don't (yet) have lockdown corners, which is why we are not blitzing like years past [see #1]. We are playing a different style of defense..bend don't break, and make the Red Zone our 12th man.

3. We are getting hit with the injury bug, but we are very deep. We have a very deep team and are working in new guys into the mix. This causes grieing pains and that's ok this early in the season. We WILL get better each week.

4. The coached DO use the non-conf schedule to sort through a lot of new challenges while not putting the W at risk. Might seem obvious but it's not that easy. We have a RB by comittee (for now), a new "Co-Def coordinators" system, new Special teams Coordinator, new punter, etc

5. While I have not seen us dominate a game from beginning to end, we ultimately have imposed our will on our competition. Has anyone thought the other team was imposing their will on us for more than small stretches??

6. Good to great teams find a way to win, even if it's not dominate. This team is working through quite a bit of challenges and some 'adversity'. Good, I say. It keeps everyone focused and builds character.

Enjoy. These are special times and we have a true leader at the wheel. We want to peak as a team in Nov, not Sept.m
