My wife asked me tonight if I wanted to go to the UM vs MSU football game with my brother-in-law who is a UM grad and grew up a UM fan. He lives on the East Coast and flys back to AA for the games as a season ticket holder.
Do I go to the game with him? I will have to play nice and listen to the greatness of Harbaugh stories. My brother-in-law is a great guy up until you enter UM into any discussion. Once you enter UM into the discussion he becomes your typical mis-informed, opinionated UM fan. Honestly, I am not sure that I can sit there and take it. Being family, minus his UM passion he is a great person. My fear is that I am not sure I can bite my tongue and sit in that stadium. My wife already told me that I would need to tone down my Spartan gear to sit with him......to which I laughed and said, "NO F'in way".......if you watch the game I will be that one spot of green in a sea of puke yellow......no way I am going to this game in anything but, "Green & White". She said there is a chance you may not get treated too well at the game......to which I responded "bring it on!" So back to my original question is it better watching this game at home on TV or sitting In that crappy stadium having to suppress my hatred for all things represented by UM?
Normally would have zero issues going but, I have grown extremely tired of suppressing my distaste of UM.....having the Harbaugh effect shoved down our throats, as we as Spartans find our team ranked #2 in the land might be the most disrespected I have ever felt as a Spartan. I listen to Sports radio on my drive to work and every time I turn on the radio......it is Harbaugh this and Harbaugh that. This year I am just not sure I can sit and be nice to people (including my brother-in-law) watching this game. Should I go to this game or should I decline nicely and watch this game on TV?
