It has to be a 40 carry game to win. I think it will boil down to whether our OL can handle their 3-4 scheme better this time. If we are able to grind out long drives and shorten the game our chances improve greatly. Under 40 carries and 150 yards of Spartan running back rushing Oregon wins. From 151 to 175 its a toss up plus 175+ favors Spartans and 200+ rushing from the Spartan backs its a Spartan win. We need 40+ carries by the backs.
After watching our back 7 against WMU I don't like them well enough to think State will prevail unless we dominate at least a couple of quarters on the ground. Cook is good and we have several good receivers but they are not in mid season form so winning a track meet seems very unlikely. We need some Perles style 15-16 play drives with London, Holmes or Scott hammering away.
