EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State wrestling is set to host the annual Michigan State Open inside historic Jenison Field House on Saturday, November 9, welcoming competitors from 19 NCAA Division I programs among others.

Doors at Jenison Field House will open at 8:00 a.m. with first whistle scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Parking is available at Lot 62 or the Kellogg Center garage. Jenison Field House parking will be blocked off for Michigan State's hockey game later that same evening.

"We're excited to host the annual Michigan State Open this weekend, which has always been one of the tougher early season open tournaments in the country. It's always great to compete against other programs from the Big Ten and the state of Michigan, in addition to the programs that travel from across the country to compete. While we opened the season with a dual last week, we have a lot of guys who are looking to start their season on the right foot at home on Saturday."

Spartans Start 1-0
Michigan State got its first win of the season under its belt last weekend defeating American University 20-12. It was the first time that MSU opened its season with a dual since 2015-16. The Spartans have now won 23 consecutive non-conference duals dating back to 2020.
MSU posted five victories in the win, with Andy Hampton, Clayton Jones, Braden Stauffenberg, Ceasar Garza, Luke Daly and Remy Cotton all starting the season 1-0. Cotton was the lone bonus point winner with a 21-6 tech fall over his opponent to secure the dual at 197 pounds.
