First I spoke with TE Cole Kmet of Illinois

He camped at MSU and I thought he was terrific. He informed me that he has not heard a lot from MSU and right now it seems like a OSU vs ND race. Hard to believe OSU would be able to wrangle another TE after getting 3 elite ones in this class. With that said, I am not a fan of Midwest kids going to ND as many on here know.

Withjout much contact Kmet really does not have much interest in MSU. Can't blame him for that. I am surprised tough as he was the best TE at MSU's Camp, better than Noah Davis. I would be VERY surprised if he is not one of the best TE in nation by the time the rankings are done.

The I was able to reach QB Jake Fromm of Georgia

Fromm informed me that he has had very little contact with Michigan State despite saying that they did offer him a scholarship. he seemed very focused on SEC teams and told me that Alabama, South Carolina and Ole Miss have his attention right now.

As I pointed out Georgia has 4 ELITE QB's for class of 2017 and Georgia already has 1 so the others will likely be going out of state.

I think it is VERY important for MSU to sign a quality QB for the class of 2017 and here is why. You get 3 good ones in a row and you create a great situation as far as competition. Plus even if things just fall into an age order you may be able to keep all of them for entire time. at a minimum you will likely keep them around for multiple year. For example, MSU is in a great situation right now due to 3 good ones in a row.

MSU does not miss Chris Durkin at all right now. If anything he would probably be thinking of transferring right now or have already done it if he was at MSU.

If you land 3 good ones in a row you CAN take a year off and have extra ship for another position of need. In addition, you set yourself up to be in a very good position for the following year. So lets assume MSU gets a good one for 2017, they could then skip 2018! If you skip 2018 you would then be in a strong spot for 2019 and last I checked 2019 might be best in-state QB class to come along since Van Dyke and Henson.

Based on Rivals the class of 2019 has 2 quarterback that have ALREADY received BCS offers Sam Johnson and Dwan Mathis.....both from Michigan.

I will try and hit up some more 2017 QB's tonight:)
