the tackle injuries are really affecting us. Not many teams are going to sustain this many injuries to tackles and still field a offense line capable of consistent pass protection. Having Jack Allen out at tackle likely really hurt play calling. Much easier for him to run block out there than provide extended pass protection. Further, it weakened or Oline interior by moving him outside. In truth we rarely called a traditional pocket pass after Finley went out. Even more concerning is the performance of Machado. He needed to step up and be serviceable and his early mistakes cost him coaches trust in the second half. Think about this for a second. How many teams do you know that kind slide their starting center and guard to the tackle positions and not have it affect performance. This was mash unit 101. Run block, survive. We will have the week to get someone else repped up and ready to go. Truth is we need Keiler and Conklin back in a hurry or our aspirations are going to turn into disappointments.
