I haven't followed this story super closely but interesting to see that he's been found not guilty. Reading the news articles on the trial, the evidence seems extremely weak, and I'm curious as to how the prosecutors actually felt like they could win this case. For context, there's a pretty extensive review process, especially for sex crimes, and the prosecutors base their charging decisions on a reasonable likelihood of conviction. In my vast experience, there are many crimes that go unpunished because the evidence is lacking, in one way or another. Here, she's in a crowded bar and claims that Shannon touched her buttocks and genitalia. Then she picked him out of the Illinois basketball roster.
