First the groups that are already outstanding:
1) Safety - Not sure that there are 2 better safeties in the Midwest than Vance and Lyke. Both look like they can cover and come up and hit. I saw that Lyke had 18 tackles last week.
2) OLB - Randle and Morris. Both kids are underrated. Both also play WR and probably could have gotten a D1ship at that position. Both look to be special athletes.
3) DE - King, Robertson and Hunt. King is up to at least 245 lbs. He has 5 sacks in the last two weeks. Robertson is a beast.
4) DT - Jones and Panasiuk. Both will need a little time to work on their techniques but the raw material is there.
5) WR - Jackson, Chambers and Layne. All three will have a chance to compete as freshmen.
6) QB - deWeaver. I believe he is enrolling early. He has a very nice touch on his throws.
7) K - Coghlin. One of the top rated kickers.
Good groups
1) MLB - Bachie looks like he can do everything. Just have to question his 6'2" listed height. Looks more like 6' in his pictures when standing next to our other recruits. Greg Jones wasn't the tallest LB so who knows.
2) TE - Davis he looks like a very solid one man class.
3) RB - Adams looks very good and may be all we need in this class. Hill would be a great add and would push this group up into the outstanding group.
Groups that could still use some help
1) CB - Andrews might be a better RB than CB. We could use at least 1 more cover corner since we stick our guys out on an island. Wouldn't mind taking two with the injury to Copeland. Never know if that injury will heal properly.
2) OL - Allen, Arcuri and Lukusa. Allen and Arcuri have a lot of size to add. Need to add at least 1 or 2 more top kids to this class.
Not sure if those top 7 groups could have been much better since Dantonio pretty much got his top choices.
We got what we needed in the good groups. Adams is a nice contrast to Scott and London.
Just add a CB, CB/WR and 1-2 Olineman and we are set. George Hill would be a nice option as a RB/DB also.
