The Elite 11 has no way of evaluating

the most important characteristic required to become a successful QB. And, IMHO that characteristic is the confidence to perform at their highest level when the game is on the line. There are lots of examples of QBs who manifest that kind of confidence in game critical situations. Tom Brady is the first to come to my mind but there are others. On the other hand there are maybe even more examples of QBs, often Heisman winners, who have been first round NFL draft picks who end up having disastrous careers in the NFL. My point is while the Elite 11 and the Opening are nice glitzy media events there is almost no statistically significant correlation
between player performance in the Elite 11 and the Opening and the ultimate performance of a player in college or the NFL.
