The events cover a wide swath of area across the South Loop. The farthest event is only a ten minute walk for me.
But the timing is all off for me. My wife and I were huge NFL fans in our 20s and 30s. Even had Bears season tickets. But when I swapped my Bears tix for Cubs seasons, and got a renewed attachment to MSU football when George Perles took us back to our toughness roots, I became less and less interested in the Pro game.
It has been really cool walking around the neighborhood doing errands. The fans of all various teams from around the country all sporting their jerseys and co-existing peacefully. But I have yet to attend any events. I'm going out today to check out stuff, but it will be out of guilt and shame that its all right here and I have been doing nothing about it. Millions of fans would kill to live where I live, just for this week.
Thirty years ago, I'd be hanging out there all day and night.
No real point to this post other than to share my experience.
