Was watching his film last night and thinking about where MSU stands with DL recruiting and other players.

MSU did not sign a DT in last years class. While it is possible Raquan Williams could play there, he could also stay outside. To me Williams is not a guy who will pack on a lot of weight. He is a guy who could stay the same, but just change his body some. At 6'6 he has a more lean body frame. Time will tell.

Landing 2 DT's to this class would be a very good thing. If we assume MSU is able to land Naquan Jones, they will still need 1 more. Panasiuk would be a very good get IMO. Watching him I was reminded of former Spartan Micajah Reynolds. Reynolds was not a Jerel Worthy type, but what he was is a space eater/double team-taker. I can see Panasiuk being a strong 300-pound guy who plugs up the line and allows LB's to fill gaps and make tackles.

IF MSU offers Panasiuk and is able to land the quartet of Jones, King, Robertson and Panasiuk Spartan fans have to be very excited about that group.

I am sure some are wondering about Khalid Kareem and where he would fit in the mix if MSU were to get those 4 players. I think KK is a player MSU will always have a spot for, but they also need to make sure they cover all the bases. I firmly believe that KK will eventually be a DT at the next level. I think his career progression will follow a path similar to LT. 3 years from now I can see KK being 6'4 290-pounds and playing the 3 technique.

If MSU added KK that would give MSU 5 DL in this class, that is a good #. Plus it would easily be considered one of the best DL class in the nation and most certainly tops in the Big Ten.

I did some research on another team known for dominant DL's

-In 2012 Alabama signed 5 DT's in one class!
-In 2013 they took 5 DL
-In 2014 they took 6 DL incluiding 4 more DT's!
-in 2015 they took 5 more DL including a JUCO DT

I think a player like KK would make sense because if MSU gets Jones and Panasiuk they would have 2 true DT. If they get Robertson and King they have 2 DE's and flex player like KK would be a good addition.

With that said, if KK opts elsewhere, MSU is still after both Lake Forest Academy players in Thomas Schaffer and Daniel Joseph. Plus Jovan Swann of Indiana would likely be a guy MSU makes a strong push for. In addition, I think a few sleeper DE's could emerge. A kid I think has a chance is Adetokunbo Ogundeji of Walled Lake Western. Plus it is still early and MSU could certainly look to places like Florida, Georgia or Texas if they felt so inclined. I also wonder if a few committed guys could flip if MSU turns up the heat. Iowa just picked up 2 DL and MSU may get a look at them at SMSB. Jalyn Bannerman is committed to Kentucky, but he is a kid who might want to seriously take a look at MSU. Lots of options for the Green and White.
