Hell of a win...
1. Oregon's offense is so interesting. They almost take the defensive line out of the equation with how fast they get the ball out on the perimeter. Their blocking on the outside is phenomenal. On the other hand, I am a bit surprised our secondary isn't better able to handle that physicality. The strength of our D is on the inside and they stressed us. Thought our perimeter guys held up pretty well under the pressure. Thankful MM is gone as he was the best college football player I have ever seen. Will be interested to see Comp et al's analysis of this aspect of the matchup. I don't think we face anyone else with perimeter athletes and schemes like this all year.
2. Injuries. Seems like we had a lot of guys dinged up, especially on D. Kieler, Calhoun, Williamson, Knox, others. Any early insight into their health?
3. Second game now I thought Cook has looked pretty average compared to his last 23 games. Hoping for a lot more here. Have not seen as much out of Shelton and Troup as I expected. Glad Kings is still walking after that block he took on the bad Cook pass. I know we are breaking in some new receivers (or guys are stepping up) but it seems like Cook is off the mark. Is that your take? Is it the receivers? Or are they fine and I am over analyzing.
Scott looks like a beast!
Go Green!
