SpartanMag Community,
I want to thank each and every one of you for the support you've given Paul and I, and our contributors, over the years.
I've made some great friends through these message boards, and I look forward to making more friends while we continue to try to provide you with great, insightful, accurate, compelling, in-depth, unique coverage and analysis of your Michigan State Spartans as a trusted news organization. The sports season has come to a halt, but the University will go on.
I know that many of us are going through a bit of shock right now in trying to get our families and situations in order while keeping an eye on the news. I understand it can all be exhausting and disturbing.
I'm hoping that our SpartanMag.com message boards can be a place for us to come for conversation, to share news, information and experiences from around the country and world. Also, I think it can be a place where you can hopefully get away from the real world and decompress a little bit.
It's hard to achieve both on one message board.
That's why I'm planning to temporarily transform the Final Fourum into the message board where you can "get away" from things, and be totally free from political conversation/arguments and updates about the virus situation. If that's what you want from SpartanMag.com, that's where you need to be.
We will still talk basketball on the Fourum. But I want that message board to be completely free from virus and political discussion.
In the meantime, we will have to work and experiment and try to figure out what we want The Undergound Bunker message board to be. I think that for those who want to talk about anything related to football, those discusions can still happen at The Bunker.
But there will also be posts on The Bunker about the virus situation and news of the day. I'm asking for those topics to be flagged with the blue OT (off topic) flag. That way, people who want to come to The Bunker and look for sports conversation while being free from news discussion can easily stay away from those OT posts.
Remember to use the OT flag. Even if we end up with a majority of OT posts, I think that's still the way we need to organize things.

Many of you belong to other news group message boards around the internet. Here at SpartanMag, we all have one thing in common - the love for Michigan State University. That's the cornerstone of this web community. Many of us have grown to know each other somewhat closely. That can help make our conversations that much more informational and poignant.
I realize it's going to be hard to talk about news developments without an intersection into political views. As usual, we will TRY to eliminate political arguments on The Bunker. That might not be possible. I've had trouble reading and deleting posts in recent days that normally would have been axed. There were just too many of them.
Can we have discussions without arguments? Maybe not. But we will experiment and morph as we go.
I'm going to try to officiate The Underground Bunker with the usual standards. Can we talk news events and share information without blaming or championing elected officials and sparking outrage? I'm not sure. But that's what we'll try to do.
I love that many of you rely on this web community for advice on real estate and financial advice, and more. There are a lot of bright people here, and it's become a tremendous, valuable, well-rounded resource for many of us.

As for fresh MSU sports content, Paul and I plan to put together some podcasts, historical pieces and 2020 football angles that we were saving for the spring, that should still be newsworthy for the weeks and months ahead.
Right now, it's a little hard to concentrate on producing content. But we look forward to things settling down here in the days ahead, and the possibility that many of us will be spending more time at home, at least for a little while, and hopefully you will be looking for some Michigan State content to consume and discuss. We plan to have some for you.

I consider all of you my friends, even those of you who don't like me. Hopefully there aren't many of those, and I'll work to try to win you over and improve our approval rating.
In the meantime, let's be kind to one another and support one another and maybe even come together and cooperate. I have great love for all of you, and what you've done for my family and Paul's family.
