No breaking news.
In past years, after a couple of days of practice, we might learn about a position change, or someone making a big impression toward rising in the ranks.
Today, everything seems to be consistent with the way the spring ended, and the way Dantonio saw things in Chicago. That's probably the sign of a mature program. The one exception might be freshman LJ Scott at RB. There certainly was a lot of optimism about him coming in, and through a few weeks of summer conditioning, and now he has backed it up with a couple of impressive days of camp.
As for Demetrious Cox, he said he spent the first couple of days at corner, but spent this morning's practice at safety. They're keeping him oiled up at both. He's the first guy I can remember in the Dantonio era that has been asked to stay functional at BOTH cornerback and safety. Some have moved back and forth from one position to the other but I can't think of anyone who has been asked to play both.
And really, that means FOUR positions, these days. They used to be able to stay primarily at boundary or field cornerback. But these days, you take the field on one side or the other and then you often have to stay on that side if you're going against an uptempo team.
