I poked around the box scores of the games played by Michigan and Michigan State, and I found this to be very interesting. Through five games, the much celebrated Michigan defense has forced seven turnovers, while their offense has coughed it up nine times. On the other hand, the Spartan defense has eleven takeaways while the offense has turned it over only twice. This will be something to watch when we visit the Big Hole on October 17th.

It amazes me just how quickly the media jumps on the Michigan bandwagon whenever they have a little bit of success. I don't doubt that they are an improved team, but I still think that they are selling Fool's Gold in terms of being a real contender in the conference and nationally. The next two weeks will be telling.
