Some of you MMA fans may have noticed a week or so ago that UFC had big press conference in NYC to announce a new deal with Reebok.

Now, ALL UFC fights will have both fighters in Reebok attire. All the trunks are pretty much the same color schemes, same shades. It's like watching an intra-squad scrimmage.

This Reebok deal takes some of the individuality away from the fighters. No more Ice Man Liddell trunks or those things Shogun used to wear.

I assume that Anderson Silva will no longer be able to wear Nike stuff. Will Ronda Rousey be able to wear Beats By Dre headphones to the ring?

They're reducing individuality and creating more commonality. That's not a good move as the sport will always be trying to introduce new athletes, new personalities breaking into the Top 10. This commonality creates a little bit of a blur. I loved the days when some guys used to fight while wearing a gi.

And a few years ago, I began noticing that all of their ring-entry music started sounding the same. I don't think Dan Henderson comes into the ring to "Lunatic fringe" anymore, and I don't think Matt Hughes used "Country boy can survive" for his last couple of fights.

These are small details. But UFC, like all sports, is entertainment.

If I were Dana White, I would stop this trend of homogenization.
