Funny, but the things that stick out to me is just how far we have upgraded our talent level from 2010.
We had good to good+ talent at several positions -
WR - BJ, Dell, KN, KM (these guys match our current talent IMHO)
RB - Bell as a freshman, Baker (as an almost...)
OL - Foreman and some conversions/plug-ins
DL - Worthy, a young Hoover, Neely, Drone, etc.
LB - Jones, Gordon (would they start this year - maybe Jones at OLB ... but not in the middle; he is not as fast as we have now)
DB - Hyde, Rucker, they played at a high level, but are they at the same level as the guys we have now? No..
QB - Cousins lead us to a lot of wins and he was great off the field, but the dude panicked way too often - picks, sacks, etc. Cook, makes mistakes, too but there is a huge difference between the two - thinking about that... I fully expect Cook to be an NFL starter and leader, KC will be always be a spot starter and a great leader.
The level we are at now is not just one-step above these players it is a full 1.5 to two steps in the 2-deep. I am just amazed looking at the way we rooted for these guys to win in 2010 and now .... well we fully expect them to win and that is due to the over-all difference in talent level and that fact that it extends 2 and sometime 3 deep!!!
I loved rooting for these guys, my highest respect goes to them, and how they brought us to where we are now; these were and are dedicated Spartans. These young men progressively elevated us from 2007-2012, but we have made the jump....
