when he took time off to go play baseball? I have always thought that. He was gambling heavily, I think he bet on basketball and he got suspended. After the Rose debacle I think they didn't want it to hurt basketball or Jordan so Stern, Reinsdorf, Jordan and his agent agreed to the plan that he would take time off and go play baseball. Reinsdorf owned the Bulls and the White Sox so they could pay Jordan during his time off, didn't hurt his endorsements, and he was able to come back after his time in the penalty box without anyone the wiser.
If things ever came out they could then say they took care of it with a suspension, but it went as they hoped, was kept quiet, he was able to miss time while messing around with baseball and could continue his career without damaging his reputation or basketball.
As soon as it was announced I thought this and still do. Anybody else think the same?
