Why put Hernandez under suicide watch? If he did it, which is what a jury determined, he's a convicted murderer facing a life in prison, why prevent him?
I've never understood it, death row inmates are put under suicide watch. Really? Let them if that is what they want to do, it's what society has determined for their future, why would we care if they take their own life rather than years in court and then the system implementing the outcome, give them a rope and save some taxpayer $$.
I will also say, I'm not a death penalty advocate, should require another level of proof beyond reasonable doubt. Courts use the same level of proof, then death penalty dependent on the crime. I think it should also require physical irrefutable absolute guilty proof for the death penalty, can't' get it wrong and too often the courts do get it wrong.
I understand suicide watch for someone that might feel complete despair due to a situation but might still have a future, we want to prevent an irrational decision for someone that could have hope, but if they are a lifer or are on death row - let them do what they may.
