Brian Allen told us in the spring that it wasn't supposed to be a fake and that he messed it up. (he tried to take the bullet)

Dantonio was just asked about that situation why Dantonio didn't tell us last year that a player incorrectly called for a fake.

Dantonio smilingly said that there indeed was a fake called at that time (for better or worse) and Brian Allen missed the call and didn't know it was a fake.

“That was a fake,” Dantonio said. “He didn’t know. That’s why it didn’t work.
