I week or so ago I started a thread "Why MSU really rocks." Today a conversation prompted me to start a thread on why scUM really sucks. I was talking to a guy today who really doesn't care about either school or sports for that matter. HE wandered how anyone could really be against a school because of their athletics when it is supposed to be about academics.
I thought about this and my experience of scUM fans over the years. I am no genius but I do have an undergrad with majors in English, history, and economics, as well as two MBA's (finance, management). One past acquaintance thought my degrees, as well as my fathers JD from U of D, and master of tax law were pretty irrelevant when compared with his JD from scUM. Of course he was also disbarred. Another thought it was a waste from MSU because it wasn't UM. He didn't have a college degree at all. Routinely we hear about what a great school scUM is, yet MSU and many other school match up pretty well. The only thing they excel at is pumping out arrogant a$$holes. I guess the point I am trying to make is that scUMs entitlement attitude, arrogance, and ignorance of what the heck is going on in the real world is appalling. I have never seen graciousness from a UM fan, student, alum, professor, or anyone involved with that program. It is almost like they view graciousness as a character weakness.
So this takes me to what I feel is the real problem with scUM. They now have a Superbowl coach (theoretically it can't get much better), but the sickness from that University and all those involved or pretending to be involved is that they just don't understand that their arrogance is not justified now, wasn't then, and won't be in the future. Therefore, no matter what Harbough does they will still suck.
