Obviously the Wings are in the playoffs again (24 years in a row, which is just staggering), but the Stanley Cup Playoffs have already been phenomenal through only 3/4 games of Round 1. There isn't a bad series of the bunch, and every single one has been entertaining.
I know the NHL isn't the most popular sport, and even then the Stanley Cup Playoffs are well respected by the casual fan, but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how more people aren't watching these games. There is no sport where the level of effort is this high, this consistently.
One timeout per team per game, two TV timeouts per period, and sudden death 4-on-4 overtime. The pace of play has been amazing, and it's been exciting to watch any team in any series. Loving the playoffs right now.
