At the end of a long night of working, I watched the thing on my DVR
It was interesting and entertaining, but not very insightful. I can't say that I learned much that we didn't already know.
When they showed practice footage, I paused and rewound for any nugget of anything, but I never saw much. There was one delayed draw out of a shot gun with the blocking back showing a certain body language decoy that was run by the ones and twos that I suspect MSU won't be pleased got on opponents' film.
We saw the same replay of two or three practice reps two or three times.
I'm sure BTN is listening to coaches about what they can shoot and what they don't want out there.
Anyone remember the first year BTN did these camp tour segments? They would show four or five minutes of live practice reps (on tape delay, of course) with BTN commentators talking over the film. That was stuff was great. But maybe too great. I suspect that coaches told them to cut the cord on that stuff.
As for the BTN show itself, I'm not sure why they went back to the studio for Glen Mason and whoever was interviewing him. They went back to those two guys at least two times, maybe three times. The show is only 45 minutes long (when taking commercials out). Why are they blowing 8 of those minutes on two guys in the studio?
Howard Griffith was AT PRACTICE all day. How much air time did he get to provide his viewpoints on what he saw? One minute total?
Anyway, the camp tour thing is a great idea but execution and production was mediocre yesterday.
DiNardo had some very interesting things to say about MSU's practice, but I know this only by reading his Tweets and by hearing him on the Mad Dog radio show here in Lansing on that evening.
The interviews with Dantonio, Cook and Shilique were good enough, and compulsory. But much of the rest of it was kind of watered-down.
