One of the silly subtexts of the MSU/Michigan rivalry over the past few years has been Michigan's relative success when it comes to getting to the Sweet 16. Perhaps you have heard of it? Of course, now that both Michigan basketball fans are left at home with nothing to do, they have taken to the internet to boldly scold MSU fans for being excited about making the Sweet 16. Of course they have.
As I was thinking about this over the past few days, it occurred to me that there is a very simple way to combat this latest round of stupidity from your maize-and-blue clad frenemies:
As I say, big boy programs hang banner for championships and Final Fours. MSU has more of those that any other Big Ten program whether you go back 4 years or 25.
Make sure to mention that the next time you find yourself at the water cooler with a Moron (and you can guess what the capital M stands for)
