As the Spartan prepare for the bye bye bye week, it occurs to me that MSU said adios to lots of things this week, including Coach Tucker and maybe the chance at the post-season.
But you know what? I still think that there is a decent team in there somewhere. The fact is that MSU played very well for large stretches of that game and were in a position to beat maybe the second best team in the West deep into the fourth quarter on the road. That ain't no lie and it also isn't nothing. I am pretty confident that the Spartans will have at least a few impressive wins yet this season. That all assumes that the wheels do not completely fall off, a la 2016, but I remain optimistic.
Will it be enough to eke out six wins and those valuable extra practices? The odds aren't good, but I would not rule it out.

Michigan State formerly said goodbye to Mel Tucker, but did the Spartans also say goodbye to any hopes of a bowl game?
