According to very smart people I know, this is the worst tech scenario bubble in 20 years. Brilliant younger people working across tech that make mid six digit salaries are outright getting fired, not just by companies like Facebook and Elon musk/ twitter. These are people who could have called their shot at any other time in history, and the type of people that should never be worried about being unemployed. Many of the best financial and tech companies have hiring freezes, unheard of for them.
The only positive for the job market is the last time this happened, a lot of startups happened in about 2007-2008.
Offers, benefits, pensions of the prestigious companies disappeared, which forced many smart people into small start ups, which in the end MAY benefit them and the Industry. Kids from college are facing a much much different job market then they were a year ago-many companies are laying off, MANY have hiring freezes, fwiw
