I was talking to some sources at the Michigan State prospect camp today and have a few notes to share about the recent wide receivers.

First, and perhaps most notably, MSU still feels really good about four-star and former commit Nick Marsh. Nothing definitive and Penn State and others are threats, but having his final official visit before his July 7 commitment is huge for MSU. The Spartans remain in good position, and Marsh has maintained that MSU will still be a serious contender despite the decommitment.

Michigan State wowed Kwazi Gilmer on his official visit. At one point, it felt unlikely a high-profile California recruit would choose MSU, but now it feels quite possible with Gilmer. He was recently spotted rocking MSU gloves at an event. Michigan State feels great here, but other West Coast schools are still in the mix.

Following his official visit earlier this month, MSU is in a great spot with Tra'Mar Harris. However he took an OV to Indiana last week, and will take one at Purdue this weekend. MSU also feels very good here, but Purdue is a threat. Harris included Michigan State, Purdue and others in his top-five today.

Green is yet another wide receiver who was blown away by his Michigan State official visit. He is an electric playmaker, and MSU feels like it is right in the mix here. Wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins played with Green's dad in the NFL. However, recent interest from Alabama and his home state programs of North Carolina and North Carolina State make this one a little harder to see clearly.

Certainly, it's unlikely MSU lands all four of these players, but it would not be surprising to see at least one or two go green.

Two other 2024 wide receivers who MSU is remaining in contact with, but perhaps not as much as the others are Bredell Richardson and Jordan Ross.

One other name to watch is Kaden Hurst out of Indiana. He camped at MSU and is on the Spartans' radar, but the staff wants to see how he performs this fall before offering. Hurst currently has some MAC offers.
