Lots of changes across the landscape of college football with MSU in full change mode. From the portal, to roster management to a new , largely unknown and unproven coaching staff . In a earlier thread it was reported that season ticket sales are down nearly 30% and after browsing the MSU ticket availability site there looks to be a lot of vacancies in SS. I am curious to see if there is any blowback on the seat charges after all if athletes are making money to play why are scholarships necessary? If Johnny qb makes a couple hundred thousand does he still get a free education? My best guess is some fans are going to be less enthusiastic, there is lots of anecdotal support for that on this message board. The question is will new fans pick up the slack? The hype machine has been in overdrive for the last year, in 8 short weeks we will start to see either a launch or a flame out, it will be hard to know the short term or long term trajectory and how MSU fairs in the new era. Clearly College Sports and MSU are embracing a new vision some it intentional and some of it legislated. Flip a coin as to the winners and the losers.
