EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State gymnastics head coach Mike Rowe announced Baleigh Garcia, Skyla Schulte and Gabrielle Stephen as captains for the 2024 season.

Garcia and Stephen will each serve their second year as captains, while the upcoming season will be the first as a captain for Schulte.

Garcia, a native of Boynton Beach, Florida, is a three-time WCGA Scholastic All-American and two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. The senior earned her second-straight Second-Team All-Big Ten nod in 2023 after setting career-highs on beam (9.950) and floor (9.850). She was named to the All-Championship Team at the 2023 Big Ten Championships where she earned runner-up honors on beam.

Schulte, a junior hailing from Bolingbrook, Illinois, earned Academic All-Big Ten and WCGA Academic All-America honors last season. She is a two-time First-Team All-Big Ten selection and holds four of the top 10 all-around scores in program history. In 2022, she became the fourth All-American in MSU history with an eighth-place finish on beam at the NCAA Championships.

Stephen, a junior, is a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and two-time WCGA Scholastic All-American. The Elgin, Illinois, native is a two-time First-Team All-Big Ten honoree and qualified to the NCAA Championships last season as an individual on beam. In 2023, she set career highs on vault (9.950), bars (9.975), floor (9.975) and in the all-around (39.725) and collected 18 event titles, including the NCAA Pittsburgh Regional title on beam.

The Spartans host their annual "Meet the Spartans" event on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. in the Jension Field House practice gym (third floor). The regular season kicks off the weekend of Jan. 5 at the Super 16 in Las Vegas.
