RECRUITING Four-star LB Grant Beerman sees what MSU is building after official visit

Michigan State already has two linebackers committed in its 2025 recruiting class with in-state prospects Charles White and Dimari Malone, but has its sights set on adding Ohio four-star linebacker Grant Beerman as well.

Beerman was in East Lansing this past weekend to take an official visit to Michigan State.

The Lakota West High School star currently ranks as the No. 18 player in the state of Ohio and the No. 30 outside linebacker in the 2025 cycle. He is a top priority for head coach Jonathan Smith, defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Joe Rossi and the rest of the MSU staff.

Following his official visit to Michigan State, Beerman discussed the trip with Spartans Illustrated and provided an update on what is next in his recruiting process.

"MSU has a strong football legacy and a great chance to develop back into a program that can win a Big Ten championship and compete in the playoffs," Beerman said. "They are obviously going through a ton of change right now, and winning won’t be easy right out of the gate, but I can see what Coach Smith is building and can tell from the culture of the players he has on the team and is bringing in that it won’t be long before Michigan State is back to a powerhouse Big Ten program."

The Spartans don’t seem shy about attempting to make the Hawaii to East Lansing pipeline continue into the 2025 recruiting class.

RECRUITING 2025 Indiana four-star PF Trent Sisley tentatively sets official visit with Michigan State men's basketball

A source close to 2025 Indiana four-star power forward Trent Sisley tells Spartans Illustrated that he has tentatively set an official visit date of Oct. 12 with the Michigan State men's basketball program. We are told this date is "penciled in" for now, but not yet 100 percent locked in just yet.

Sisley has previously taken multiple unofficial visits to East Lansing. He also is looking to take official visits to Purdue, Indiana and Notre Dame this fall, and he already took an OV to Iowa last September.

Sisley has been a longtime target for MSU and ranks as the No. 67 overall prospect and the No. 12 power forward in the 2025 cycle.
