Rivals finally updated Alante Brown's ranking and gave him his 3rd star.

MSU player rankings is 3.1 which places them 7th in BIG. That is also total overall point rankings as well.

I know some were complaining about our average around signing day when Alante Was a 2-star and the kicker had zero stars. Since then...

-Punter got 2-stars
-Brown moved to 3-stars
-MSU got commit from Morgan who bumped to 4-stars

Jim has often said the difference between 20 and 40 could be a coin flip, especially when you factor in number of commits. For example if MSU were to get 1 more 3-star recruit they would no longer be counting the punter in rankings as far as average stars.

Looking at classes in that range you have Washington, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Stanford ahead of MSU. You have Va Tech, Iowa, Ok State and Mizzou behind MSU. I think MSU is right in it's "sweet spot" as far as recruiting. When MSU has cycled up and had very highly rated classes their has been a lot of attrition or other issues. It happened under BW, Smith and Dantonio. Find guys that fit your program and let the ranking be damned....as long as they are in that 20-40 range;)
