This is from the main board......have never been a Farrell fan as he has UM in his past and loves his rodents but, these comments although double edged shows he may be willing to finally give MSU the respect that it deserves.....sort of......And I am sure it was painful for him having to write these compliments.....I call these comments double edged as he is not willing to give MSU credit for finding a hidden gem in Cook that Rivals missed but, is willing to compliment MSU's abilities to coach Cook up!
Cook was ranked as the No. 13 pro-style quarterback nationally and the No. 30 recruit in Ohio in the Class of 2011. He just missed four-star status back in 2011 and, looking back at things now, he probably should've received the bump. Cook surprised some with his decision to return to East Lansing for one more season. This extra year of seasoning will give Cook the ability to work on some of the fine points of his game, since overall he already looks to be NFL ready. It will likely be an interesting battle to see who the top drafted quarterback will be, but you can be pretty sure that Cook will firmly be in that conversation.
Farrell's Take: I like Cook a lot and appreciate the way he has developed at Michigan State, a program that is earning a reputation as one of the best in the country for taking prospects to the next level. In fact, Cook was as recruited as a kicker and punter as he was a quarterback out of high school but he has flourished in East Lansing. Okay, so maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but he was lightly recruited, but we liked him a bit better than most schools having him top 15 nationally and as a high three-star. However, he has certainly panned out better than expected. - See more at: https://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1766024#sthash.ltxk65UJ.dpuf
