According to D1baseball.com, MSU is not among the last five in or the five out in the NCAA Tournament bracket projections (not surprisingly). [However, MSU has a better RPI than six of those 10 schools. Read on.]

MSU has fallen to No. 48 in the RPI. Surging Indiana (which has swept Ohio State, swept Maryland and took 2 of 3 from Long Beach State in the last three weeks) is now in the mid-30s (and so is Notre Dame, for that matter).

Perhaps MSU can rack up some points to make things interesting if the Spartans make it to the final of the Big Ten Tournament. But MSU probably needs to win the whole thing, and I don't know that they have the starting pitching to hang that long.

Long runs by ND and Clemson in the ACC Tournament would help MSU, as would a long run by Oregon in the Pac-12 tournament (although Oregon was tied with oregon state in the late innings tonight and I haven't seen who won that game).

Anyway, the last five in (according to D1baseball.com) are:

Ohio State
Kentucky
USF
Clemson
UC Irvine

the last five out are:
Bradley
Missouri
Georgia Tech
South Carolina
UCF

MSU plays Maryland Wednesday night at 10 p.m. in the Big Ten Tournament.
