biggest surprises this year (positive)

1. The play of Kendell Brooks. Outstanding play at a position of need. This one caught many off guard as I don't think to many spartan maggers had him in the 3 deep.
2. The solid play of Ben VanSumermen. From into the transfer portal...and lets face it, he didn't light the world on fire last year - didn't look natural at lb. He has shown great speed and hitting ability with suprising recognition for being new to the position. Who would have thought he would win a starting job and perform well.
3. Re-invention of Chester Kimbrough. Has played very, very well this year. Many would have been happy if he hit the transfer portal after last year. Clearly an improved player in all phases.
4. Brandon Baldwin hold down the LT job. Most were hoping he could get a few reps here and there. No, he is not up for All-Big, but he has been steady and making a difference.
5. Jacoby Windmon. He is playing DE like we all thought Bogle or Wright might. Everyone assumed he would be in the mix at lb.
