in 2013 it was an PAC 12 Crew working at ASU. So it is not always a situation where teams use other conf official when at home.
No clue why they simply don't agree to bring a crew from another P5 Conf so that eliminates that conspiracy aspect.

BTW, I looked at MSU future non-conf schedule 2020-25
Miami, Boise State, Boston College......Pretty lame venues IMO.
Wish MSU could schedule an high quality "College Town" opponent...... Va Tech, Auburn, South Carolina, A&M, Florida.
MSU needs to schedule Kentucy IMO.
